Ending 2017 & Beginning 2018

Hello, dear friend!

Here we are, having arrived at the final day of 2017, asking ourselves "Where did the time go?!"

It's also the final WIPocalypse check in date, so let's start with that...

I began 2017 with a WIPocalypse list of 13, which started with 2 UFOs (from years unknown) and 1 actual WIP (carried over from 2016). I added 10 additional charts that I wanted to stitch, including multiple smalls for the months of May, and well as an LHN chart that I wanted to stitch as a Christmas gift and a small for the 2017 Needle Minder exchange...

2017 WIPocalypse List:
AAN "Cottage"
AAN "Spring Moon"
Becky Boo's "Welcome"
Bothy Threads "Love Heart"
Jardin Prive "Quaker Village" SAL
Laura J. Perin "Grandmother's Garden"
Lizzie Kate "Prayer of Saint Francis"
May Dough Bowl Smalls
September Dough Bowl Smalls
Lizzie Kate "Winter Fob"
LHN "Firehouse"

Ink Circles "99"
Prairie Schooler "ABCs"

During the year I added LHN "Beatitudes" to my list as I joined the SAL upon it's release with every intention of starting it immediately. Unfortunately, as I saw the year coming to an end with no start in sight, I am carrying it over to 2018's list instead. I also signed up for the LHN "Farmhouse Series," which starts in 2018.

Before I move on, let me just say that Blogger is a pain in the patootie to post pics on! Holy Guacamole, those of you who post a lot of pics every post are truly therefore, do not judge the wonky picture parade, it 'aint my fault I tell ya!

2017 Finishes:

Lizzie Kate "Prayer of Saint Francis" (No photo)
LHN "Fire House" (No photo)
Lizzie Kate "Winter Fob (No photo)

AAN "Spring Moon"

Becky Boo's "Welcome"

Bothy Threads "Love Heart"

Needle Bling "Bless Our Camper"
I change it to "Bless Our Trailer"

May Dough Bowl Smalls

September Dough Bowl Smalls...

2017 Total Finishes: 22!

2017 WIPs being carried over to 2018...
Bothy Threads "Love Tree"
AAN "Cottage"
Laura J. Perrin "Grandmother's Garden"
LHN "Beatitudes" SAL
SAL Starting in 2018...
LHN "Farmhouse Series" SAL

UFOs carried over:
Ink Circles "99"
Prairie Schooler "ABCs"

Well...I think that may be the extent of my final tallies for 2017, and looking back, I don't think I did half bad...all things considered...though if you notice the UFOs also carried over with nary a stitch added.

My WIPocalypse plans for 2018 begin with the above 4 carry-over items, 1 new SAL item, and the same 2 UFOs, as well as those that I will be adding as I peruse my stash and see what peaks my fancy.

I also need to add "organizing" to my list, as I am a disheveled mess! I gave up my sewing room a few years ago, for a good cause, but just dumped everything that came out of it in bins and never looked back...especially my flosses...oh my beautiful flosses, what I have done to pitiful! So, there's that to work on too, as I know that I have double bought many items because I was too lazy to put it all right. My excuse was that I had no place to put it all, but the truth is that Pa bought me a beautiful sewing/crafting table and end cabinets with drawers that basically take up a wall in our bedroom, and said "It's all for you, my dear," but it has done nothing but draw a load of junk upon it. (kind of like the treadmill did years ago), but that is no's about to get the cleaning and set up it deserves, so look for pics of my new "Nook."

My main goal, however, is to be a better Blog visitor and commenter, as well as regaining consistency in posting to my own Blog, as I adore you all and enjoy our visits so very much.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit on this final day of 2017, dear friend, and I am sending you off with wishes for a 2018 filled with peace, love, and happiness. I pray that we may meet back here on the final day of 2018 to raise a glass of cheer, once again.

Karyn, what super finishes you had in 2017. I look forward to seeing your progress on the 4 being carried over into 2018 along to see what else you come up with. Wishing you a new year filled with much happiness and many stitches!

Happy New Year Karyn! You had a productive year! I love the school oriented projects - my sister is a teacher.

I blogged more in 2017 than I did in 2016 (I'm pretty sure) but that isn't saying much! I need to do better too as it is a great way to document my creative journey and a place to record the details that are helpful to put my hands on at a later date.
