Our First WIPocalypse 2019 Check In

Yesterday was actually the first check-in for WIPocalypse 2019, and I seem to be a day late...not a good sign. Better late than never...

Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year!

Most of you know me, but for those who don't...My name is Karyn, I am a 55 year old wife, mother, and grandmother (look to the right and you will see my amazing granddaughter), who began stitching at the age of 6, and though I enjoy many forms of stitching, Cross Stitch is my passion and I also love to quilt. I live in Southern California with my husband and best friend of 34 years, and our sweet 4 year old Chihuahua...Ruby.

My plans for 2019 will remain pretty much the same as years before, with only two changes...I'm not going to tie myself down with any WIP rotation schedule, it seems that I only create more anxiety for myself with rules about something that is aimed at relaxation and enjoyment. So, there will be no rules, I will stitch on whatever current WIP tickles my fancy on any given day.

The other change has to do with a start schedule of charts. Since my enjoyment of stitching is based on relaxation, I am going to not commit to a pre-set list of 2019 stitch plans, but rather I am going to stitch on my four WIPs until I finish one and then I will chose a new start from my stash...again whatever tickles my fancy, as long as it is from my stash and not a new purchase. I will try to maintain four WIPs at a time so as to maintain a nice variety, while avoiding tiring of any one.

Current WIPs:

Hands On Design "A Year of Celebrations"

 Little House Needleworks "Beatitudes"

 Rosewood Manor "Quaker Diamonds"

Shepherd's Bush "Jillian's Stocking"

I finished all of the current family member's Shepherd's Bush stockings, including the one that I started stitching when we found out that GG was, in fact, a girl! When all was said and done, I realized that I hadn't made myself a stocking...and so the above "Jillian's Stocking" is for me!

Well, there you have it, dear friend. I'm looking forward to the year ahead, and as always want to thank our dear Measi for once again seeing us through the year.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and I'll see ya next month for check-in.
Hugs

I like your WIP plan! I look forward to seeing more of your stocking appear along with your other stitches. Are you stitching the HOD Year of Celebrations individually or as one?

That sounds like a great plan and four projects will keep the interest going too. I would hate to be tied to working on certain projects on certain days, it would create much stress for me, (I've got two stitching projects on the go at the moment and rotate those).
Enjoy your stitching time :-)

I always love everything you stitch :) And great idea to not have any rules if it stresses you out. Just enjoy each and every stitch you put in this year!
