Two Finishes And A Start...

Happy Weekend!

I am happy to report that I have made two big finishes…

Finish #1…

With My Needle "Family Ties"

Sorry for the wrinkles...

This was such a joy to stitch! Ellen is such an incredible designer and her charts are filled with both an abundance of historical creativity and brilliant color. I followed the charted floss, which included NPI, and having never used it before, I just fell in love with it…what a treat and a dream it was to stitch with. I can't wait to see "Family Ties" framed and hung on the wall of Me-Ma's cozy den…I will share photos when all is done.

And…

Finish #2…

Shepherds Bush "Harry's Stocking"

Sorry for the wrinkles...

I can't stop looking at this guy...I just adore him! I hope Big Brother loves him as much as I do…

I used the charted DMC floss, with the exception of one substitution…can you tell?

Here's a hint…check out Santa's outfit and boots.

I substituted WDW "Turkish Red" for the charted DMC 902. I love the depth that the variegated HDF lends to this very whimsy Santa.

Look at the buttons and charms…adorable!

And…

I made a start on "Sheree's Stocking" for Daughter In Love…

The beginning of her jumper…again I substituted WDW "Turkish Red" for the charted DMC 902, so that it matches Big Brothers when they are hanging side by side.

Once I finish DIL's stocking, they will both head up the road to the finisher, and I will share them with you…photos to follow soon.

I am having so much fun stitching these stockings, and they are just the perfect WIP to work on while Pa and I watch the tube, at night…these days most of it has been accomplished while watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs…Go Kings!

I had forgotten how much I love Shepherds Bush designs, as it's been quite a while since I had wrought one…which brings me to some stash enhancement or shall I say retail therapy…

I decided to stitch each one of The Teakettles a stocking, and went ahead and purchased us each a chart, along with the charted floss, charm packs, and yards of 18 ct Rustic Oatmeal Aida…Stockings for everyone!

I see a whole lot of stockings in our future!

I am happy to announce that we finally sold our home in CT, having closed escrow just 2 weeks ago! The family who purchased our home are thrilled and in love with their new dream home, and I couldn't be happier, in fact I was even a bit surprised by how really happy I am to know that the house in which we raised The Brothers and shared so many wonderful memories will now harbor the same for a third generation of homeowners. I must also mention a very funny coincidence…the wife of the family who bought the house is a co-worker and dear friend of Daughter In Love…small world!

We had a family celebration which included Coffee Frosting cake made by Me-Ma and my niece…

Gorgeous and Delicious

As always, dear friend, thanks for stopping by for a visit…Toodle-oo for now

Hugs
