The Big Day And A Weekend To Remember...

Heehaw and Hello, dear friend!

It seems as though it has been forever since I posted on the old bloggie, and indeed it has! Life has been a tad bit over the top these past few months, as the wedding plans wound into gear and we prepared for the most anticipated wedding in the history of our family.

It was in front of those who love them most, that our Big Brother wed his one true love...and there was not a dry eye to be found...

Notice the towel...it was "a-hem" towel day for geeks...
But I seem to have gotten ahead of myself...

So let me go back and start at the beginning of this weekend long celebration...

We started out on Thursday with the arrival of Ma's family, which included her own Ma, as well as Aunt Marilyn, Big Sis Stacy, and Ma's most beloved niece Beck...who all took time out of their busy schedules, and flew from near and far, to share in this most blessed event...and I couldn't imagine it otherwise.

Friday found Pa's family heading into town, just in time for the festivities to begin with the Rehearsal Dinner, hosted by yours truly...

See Ma over yon, in pink? See her Ma and Ma-In-Law sitting across from her?

We ate, we drank...

Little Brother and Grandpa Teakettle posed for a pic!
We visited with Grandpa...

What a gorgeous couple!
We caught the betrothed for a photo op...

We ate until we thought we would burst, and we told silly stories about way back when these two were just a wee lad and a wee lassie, and we shared our dreams and hopes for their bright future as husband and wife...and then, before we knew it, it was time to say "g'night" and prepare for the morrow...

three tuxedos all in a row..
We awoke to a downpour of rain, and it never let up, but we reminded our dear bride "Happy is the bride the rain falls upon."

Ma, Pa, Little Brother, and Big Brother rode to the church in a limo...

Our church looked breath taking!

Pa and I took a moment to pose for the paparazzi...

Look good, dear friend, you will never again find Ma so dolled up!

We waited for a bit while our sweet bride arrived in her very own limousine, with her Ma and Pa by her side, and the nuptials began...

DIL and her own Pa
What a beautiful bride!

When the wedding service was over, we headed outside to see the sun shining bright upon our faces...

Wedded bliss!
We headed outside for some photos, at our local favorite...Rye Playland.

The wedding party...
And then we headed to the Reception, where we enjoyed a meal fit for a king! We danced until we couldn't feel our legs and smiled until we couldn't feel our cheeks, and had the time of our lives!

A first dance with his Mama
The cuties, deep in the middle of the party
The festivities went on until the last dance was called, and the final sip of champagne had been consumed...and then as if by magic it was time to say goodbye to the Mr. and Mrs., and head home to our cozy beds where Pa and Ma fell asleep before our heads even hit the pillow...

After a night of rest, it was back to the celebration and a relaxed brunch with the clans...

Pa's clan all together for a photo op...
A table of cousins, big and small...
We shared the morning with the Newlyweds, and feasted upon a buffet of goodies, and a Mimosa or two.

The four Mrs. Teakettle's lined up for a pic, with the newest member in front with our Matriarch...

Grandma Teakettle, DIL Teakettle, Ma Teakettle herself (in pink of course) and SIL Teakettle...

And then, as if in the blink of an eye, it was time for the weekend to draw to a close and with it the festivities to draw to an end.

We bid farewell to family and friends...

Big Brother and Daughter-In-Law settled into life as newlyweds, Little Brother prepared to return to his own apartment, way up yonder...and Ma and Pa returned to life as we know it...but this most blessed weekend will remain in our hearts and memories for ever.

What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:9

Thanks for stopping by, dear friend, and for sharing in this very special post.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13
